Freedom to vote sign/rally

Freedom To Vote Act

The Constitution gives Congress authority to regulate Federal elections across all states.  Minimum standards for voting across the states are completely in line with the principle of one-person-one-vote.  And that is the purpose of the Freedom to Vote Act:  ensuring that voters in West Virginia and every other state are all treated essentially the same and that no voter faces unreasonable barriers in Federal elections.

John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act

The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA) amends the Voting Rights Act (VRA) of 1965 as needed to address the harm done by recent decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS).  The VRA of 1965 was designed to protect the right to vote, particularly in Southern States where voter suppression had been most egregious since the Reconstruction era.
